Brand Essentials Basic Logo Design

It can seem like a daunting undertaking, but in the Brand Essentials Logo Design process I’ll walk you through every step to create a logo that you love.

We’ll start with answering some questions that will help me get a good sense of the ‘what’, ‘why’ and ‘how’ of your brand/business, and your style preferences. Once I’m confident that we’re a good match, and I have all the information I need to create a logo that’s beautiful, effective and aligned with your values, the design process begins. This is when you get to sit back and relax while the magic happens!

Brand Essentials Graphics Kit

Let’s say you’ve got the logo of your dreams and you decide it’s time to start putting it everywhere, but you’ve discovered your website has size and format requirements. You may find that you need your logo in a different colour, or just the text, or just the icon. Perhaps you need a version of it that looks good on a pencil or a clothing tag, or other kinds of merchandise where the primary version of it isn’t really necessary, or just doesn’t work.

Or, maybe you want to build up the visual aspect of your brand and need set of additional graphics that work with your logo and align with your brand aesthetic, that you can use in designing posts, ads, highlight covers, packaging, merchandise, letterheads, business cards, or whatever else you fancy.

If this is you then the Brand Essential Graphics Kit is what you’re looking for! These are the files that you, your graphic designer, or whoever else needs these elements, can use when creating content for your brand. We’ll talk about exactly what you need in your kit before creating it, but it may or may not include the following elements:

  • Primary Logo Pack* – Multiple sizes (adjusted for use on relevant platforms), multiple colours, and multiple formats of your official logo in its entirety as needed (eg. SVG for web, PDF/EPS for print, PNG, JPG, transparent etc.).
  • Alternate Logos Pack* – Alternate configurations and simplified versions of your logo in various sizes, colours and formats as needed.
  • Brand Elements Pack– Patterns, icons, embellishments, shapes, etc. Provided in multiple colours and formats as needed.

*The Primary and Alternate Logos Packs are only available alongside the Brand Essentials Basic Logo Design solution, or if I’ve already designed your logo.

Brand Essentials Style Guide

If you don’t quite need a 300 page brand bible, but you do want to reduce some of the creative pressure that comes with designing posts, ads, your website, packaging or any other visual aspect of your brand, and still keep things looking consistent – then this is the solution for you.

The Brand Essentials Style Guide is a set of standards and guidelines that help you maintain your brand’s identity across all platforms, applications and appearances. Whether you’re creating your own content or you have a graphic designer handling it for you, having a resource that helps to direct creativity makes the entire process easier and faster. Depending on your particular needs, this PDF guide can include some of the following information:

  • Primary Logo Design – The official version of your logo in its entirety.
  • Alternate Logo Designs and Usage – The simplified and/or alternative versions of your logo design for use in different applications, or for when the primary logo is not appropriate or too large. This may or may not include when and how to use them.
  • Colour Palette – A combination of hues carefully chosen to visually communicate and evoke emotion, including corresponding hex codes and colour mode information.
  • Font Pairings – A combination of fonts that align with and reinforce your brand’s emotional presence, as well as application guidelines.
  • Inspiration Board – A mood board that helps inspire content creation in line with your brand’s style and aesthetic.
  • Brand Elements – The additional graphics that help your audience recognise your brand, that can be used in designing content and reinforcing your visual aesthetic. Examples are: icons, shapes, patterns, embellishments, etc.
